I am producing a show for Soulpancake!!!
WHAATTT???!!!
Have you ever signed up for a project and thought, "How did that happen?"
Well, I have recently been asked to produce a pilot for the Youtube Channel "Soulpancake".
Rainn Wilson sent out this tweet and I submitted a pitch and got asked to shoot a pilot.
The show is called "The Fatherhood Project."
Everybody is affected by their father. Maybe he wasn't there, maybe he was there too much.
I am on a quest to find out what it means to be a good father. I have 3 kids, 2 boys and 1 girl.
The more I dive into fatherhood the less I know and the more I second-guess my approach to the zen/art of fatherhood.
The series will consist of 3-5 minute videos documenting the journey of finding out what it means to be a good father.
It will feature interviews with people answering the simple questions:
“What did your dad do right and what did he do wrong?”
“What did you do right with your kids and what would you do differently?”
I couldn't be more excited about the project!!
This is how it works, I shoot a pilot and then if the pilot does well on Youtube, Soulpancake has the option to pick up more episodes.
Here is the problem, I hate asking for help. A while back I was cleaning my garage and needed to move a 300lb filing cabinet full of tools. Rather than asking for help I moved it myself. This stubbornness led to the cabinet dropping and nearly chopping my legs off. It ended up taking 3 of us to move it.
So here is where you come in. I need your help to avoid chopping my legs off and to spread the word about the show. I can't make this happen without your help. Once the show launches, I'm hoping for everyone to spread the word via the interwebs.
Here is how you can help:
1. Sign up to be notified by email about show updates.
I love spam emails from people asking me to sign up for their social media course on how to get 1,000 followers. (Insert sarcastic laugh) Don't worry I won't spam you.
2. Send me your story. I need show ideas. Answer these questions and put it in the message field of the sign up form.
“What did your dad do right and what did he did wrong?”
“What did you do right with your kids and what would you do differently?”
3. Follow me on instagram, twitter, and or facebook and get updates and the occasional cute picture of Audrey.
